"When will my child get their first tooth?"

Q: When will my child get their first tooth?

A: There is some variation, but it can happen as soon as the fourth month of life. The first teeth to erupt will be the lower central incisors, followed not too long after by the upper central incisors. All twenty primary (or baby) teeth have typically arrived by age three, and the permanent (or adult) teeth usually begin to appear around age six. Visit a dentist if you are concerned your child’s teeth aren’t coming out or are missing.
